For the past decade I’ve worked as a projectionist at the same movie theatre, with the same eighteen 35mm projectors and tomorrow they will all be gone, replaced by digital projectors. We’ve been through the good times and the bad times together and now I will never see them again. I admit its a bit sentimental to get all worked up about a these heaps of metal and wire but whatever, life is like that sometimes. When I was being trained by this old projection guru “Mr. A” ,who had been working projection for the past forty years, he said whenever he would shut down the booth at the end of the night he would say to the projectors “goodnight ladies, I’ll see you tomorrow”. So tonight I say a final “good night ladies, thanks for the pictures”.

Cheers,

Shadows and Light installations by Rashad Alakbarov

Artist Rashad Alakbarov from Azerbaijan uses suspended translucent objects and other found materials to create light and shadow paintings on walls. The jaw-dropping light painting above, made with an array of colored airplanes is currently on view at the Fly to Baku exhibition at De Pury Gallery in London through January 29th.

THAT FIRST ONE

HOLY SHIT THAT FIRST ONE.

Wow.

And the “CRISIS” one.

These are amazing.

Am I the only person NOT super thrilled that Anonymous is hacking into websites and shutting them down?

Don’t get me wrong. Megaupload (and subsidiaries) getting shut down the day after the blackout is fishy. I don’t think it should have been taken down. I think SOPA and PIPA should die in a fire.

But… why are we cheering on hackers? Why are we using Guy Fawkes as a symbol for this?

Do your fucking homework, people. Start a revolution with a clean slate. Not with past examples.

imagine if this happened

  • *meeting your favourite celebrity*
  • You: Hi, I'm-
  • celebrity: I know who you are, I stalk your blog on tumblr omg. I know that you love me and I want you to bear my children. Let's raise the fuck out of our kids okay and then we can get married omg, we're meant to be. we can have amazing kinky sex all the time like in all the fanfiction you read. i also own a blog and it is full of pictures of you, with manips and stories of our fabulous love story omg lets have sex okay

But in the dark, I got a chance to fight it off. Instead, I sleep with the chaos that’ll wander down the same damn path I chose to walk on.
